about
mexika.org
As
the original inhabitants and caretakers of this
continent, we live in a world where our Indigenous
("Native American") cultural heritage
is brutally attacked on a daily basis by the dominant
society. Our enemies use ignorant terms such as
"Hispano", "Hispanic", "Latino"
and "Indo-Hispano" to describe us - in
a deliberate attempt to deny us our Indigenous cultural
inheritance. We reject these labels as they represent
a destructive act of demographic genocide, and we
proudly declare ourselves to be a sovereign Indigenous
people - collectively known as "Anawakah"
in the Indigenous language of Nawatl. Our ancestors
come from the many native nations which cared for
this land prior to the invasion by foreigners. We
embrace our Indigenous cultural inheritance and
soundly reject the racist / divisive ideologies
of mestizaje and hispanidad.
The
purpose of our organization is to provide a resource
for our Anawakah people - as well as those who wish
to better understand our struggle for self-determination
and liberation. We also aim to produce educational
materials designed to advance our struggle and
expose the true nature of the imperialist "United
States." Hopefully, this information will inspire
us as Anawakah to join together and actively work
to reclaim our place in this world as Native people.
